Becoming Adult Day ceremony 'Seijin Shiki' Held in All Japan
Ceremony to mark the Day of Being Adults were held across Japan on Monday (01/12/2015). City of Yokohama, near Tokyo, held the largest event was attended by about 25,000 people who entered the age of 20. The men and women who wear a suit or kimono gathered at Yokohama Arena. The ceremony was held twice on Monday (01/12/2015).

Currently Yokohama possess more than 36,000 people aged 20 years, the largest number for that age across the city in Japan. Urayasu city, east of Tokyo, held a ceremony at Tokyo Disneyland annually. A total of more than 1,300 people gathered at the amusement park located in the city.

Disney characters celebrate the event by displaying a variety of dances and songs. They also count from one to 20 with participants of the event.

One student said, age being 20 years old is a big difference and made him realize that he is now a part of the community.

A woman wearing a "Kimono" said he wanted to work harder to repay the parents who had raised him.
