The new president Skymark Airlines, which has been declared bankrupt, revealed that the airline will emerge from the crisis by cutting the number of flights they offer. The company is the third largest airline in Japan.
Masakazu Arimori held a press conference at the airline's headquarters in Tokyo on Thursday (01/29/2015), one day after the company filed for bankruptcy protection.
Arimori indicates that Skymark will cut dozens of flights a few days a week from 1 February to 28 March. Currently it has operated 152 flights daily.
Skymark started operation since 1998. But lately the company is facing increasing competition from low-cost carrier (LCC).
